Number porting
Keep your number. Move it to Cleat.
Your bank, your brokerage and your other accounts already know your number. If you're leaving your carrier, because you're moving abroad or tired of paying for a plan just to receive codes, you can move that number to Cleat and keep all of those accounts working.
How it works
- Ask from your account. Under Bring a number, give the number, your current carrier, the name and account number on that account, its transfer PIN and billing ZIP.
- We move it. We file the move with your carrier. Keep your current plan active until it's done: cancelling first can lose the number.
- Pay to activate. When the number is on Cleat, we email you. Your first payment is the plan plus the $25 porting fee, once.
- Use it as before. Texts and calls to the number reach your Cleat inbox, by email or on Telegram.

Texts that reach the number before you've paid are kept, and show as soon as the line is active.
What you need from your carrier
- The account number for the line, on your bill or in the carrier's app.
- The number transfer PIN. Carriers give it when you ask to move a number; it isn't your voicemail PIN.
- The name and billing ZIP code exactly as they are on that account.

It receives
Texts and calls reach you. It doesn't send texts or place calls, and can't reach 911.
One verified owner
Every line belongs to one person who verified their identity.
The carrier decides
No provider can promise that a carrier releases a number, or how fast.
Questions
How long does it take?
It depends on your carrier. We email you as soon as the number is on Cleat. Until then, keep your current plan active.
Do I need to update my accounts?
No. It's the same number, so there's nothing to change on their side. Their codes start arriving in Cleat once the move is done.
What if the move fails?
We tell you why by email, and you're not charged anything.
Can I bring a number from outside the US?
No, only US numbers can be moved to Cleat.
