Partner program
Earn 20% of every payment, for as long as they pay.
If you write for expats, form US companies for non-residents, or answer “how do I keep a US number?” for a living, your readers already need what Cleat does. Join from a free account, share your link and your code, and follow every sign-up and commission in your dashboard.
The terms
| Cleat partner program | |
|---|---|
| Commission | 20% of every payment, excluding tax, for as long as the customer pays |
| For your audience | 10% off their first payment with your code |
| How a customer is yours | They sign up from your link, or type your code at checkout |
| When it can be withdrawn | 30 days after each payment, once refunds have had time to land |
| Minimum withdrawal | $50 |
| How you're paid | Bank transfer: an IBAN with its BIC/SWIFT, or a US routing and account number |
| Invoicing | We issue a self-billing invoice for each payout, so you don't have to |
| Cost to join | Nothing. Any Cleat account can join, with or without a line |
The full wording is in the Terms of Service, section 14. Larger partners can agree other terms with us in writing.
What one customer is worth
A Cleat line is $24.99 a month, or $249.90 a year. Your 20% is $5.00 on every monthly payment, or $49.98 on every yearly one, and it keeps coming for as long as the customer keeps the line. A customer with two lines pays twice, and so do you. A refund takes back its share of the commission, and nothing else.
How tracking works
- Your link is cleat.so/?via=YOURCODE. It works on any page of the site, so you can link to the guide that fits your article. Where the visitor's privacy choices let us remember it, it counts for 60 days, and the last link followed wins.
- Your code is typed at checkout and gives the customer 10% off their first payment. It always counts, whatever their browser remembers, and it wins over someone else's link. Share both.
- Your dashboard shows how many people signed up through you, how many pay, and each commission as it's earned, with the customer's email partly hidden: enough to recognise them, not to contact them.
Who it suits
Expat and relocation guides
Readers who moved away and still need codes from a US bank, card or brokerage.
US company formation
Non-resident founders who need a US number for their bank, payment processor and marketplace accounts.
Accountants and advisers
Clients abroad who keep US accounts and lose access when their old number goes.
Creators and newsletters
Audiences in Latin America, Europe and Asia asking how to get a real US number.
Joining
- Create a free Cleat account. You don't need a line to be a partner.
- Open Affiliate in your account, choose your code and accept the terms. The code is your link and your checkout code, and it can't be changed later.
- Share your link and your code, in an article, a video description, a newsletter or a client email.
- Add your bank details and withdraw once $50 is available. Payouts usually go out within a few business days of a request.
What you can tell your audience
The claims that are true, so you can make them without checking with us:
- A Cleat line is a real US mobile number, not VoIP. Why that matters for verification.
- It works from anywhere with internet: no US SIM, no US address, nothing to activate in the US. A US number from abroad, and keeping one after you move.
- Codes arrive in the Cleat inbox, by email or on Telegram, and the line can be shared with a team. A US number for a US company.
- Every owner verifies with a government ID.
- It receives texts and calls; it doesn't send texts or place calls, and it can't reach 911.
The rules
- Promote Cleat honestly: no spam, and no claims about what a line can do that this page doesn't make.
- Don't bid on “Cleat” in search ads, and don't post your code on coupon or deal sites.
- Mark paid links as
rel="sponsored". Search engines ask for it, and it keeps your site in good standing. - You can't earn on your own account.
Questions
Is the commission only on the first payment?
No. You earn 20% of every payment the customer makes, monthly or yearly, for as long as they pay.
Can I see who signed up through me?
Yes. Your dashboard counts sign-ups and paying customers, and lists every commission with the customer's email partly hidden.
I'm outside the US. Can I be paid?
Yes. We pay by bank transfer to an IBAN (with its BIC/SWIFT) or to a US bank account. You declare the income where you live; we charge no tax on the self-billing invoices.
Can I try the product before I recommend it?
Yes, and we'd rather you did. Write to us from your account's email and tell us where you'd feature Cleat.
Do my readers pay more because of me?
No. They pay the usual price, less 10% on their first payment with your code. Your commission comes out of Cleat's share.
